The American Cooperative on Lake Phalen

PROJECT SUMMARY

 The American Cooperative on Lake Phalen brings 57 senior homes to a two-acre site steps from Lake Phalen and more than 1,400 acres of regional parks in Maplewood. The land had formerly been a fill site layered full of broken glass and old concrete, with poor soil and a high water table. Working with our engineering and landscape partners, we cleaned up the site and reimagined it as a major trailhead, planting native, pollinating species and connecting walkways to local trails.

Residents have access to a wide variety of amenities including a shared a clubroom with catering kitchen and terrace, fitness studio, billiards, rooftop deck, guest suite, and a pet wash and park, with bike and kayak storage near the entrance.
